Two Historic Renovations in Newport

We currently have two renovation projects underway just a few doors apart in Newport, Rhode Island.

At one property, work is beginning on the renovation of a residence within a historic former schoolhouse. The building has been adapted for residential use, and the project presents an opportunity to create a thoughtful new interior while working within the character and constraints of the existing structure.

Nearby, work continues on another historic residence, where our team is focused on careful interior renovation and craftsmanship that respects the character of the original building.

While the two projects have different scopes, both reflect an approach that is central to our work at 42 North Construction: understanding the existing building, collaborating closely with the project team, and finding the right balance between preservation and contemporary living.
